Lionel Messi will not play for Inter Miami when the defending Leagues Cup champions face Puebla at home on Saturday, Miami coach Gerardo Martino announced Friday. The 37-year-old Argentine striker injured his right ankle during his country’s Copa America final triumph against Colombia earlier this month.Messi missed two MLS games last week, as well as Wednesday’s MLS All-Star Game against Mexico’s Liga MX All-Stars. Martino claimed Messi is still wearing a walking boot while working with club trainers, but “the ankle is getting better and better,” according to the Miami coach.
