Krishna Janamashtami

Janmashtami is widely commemorated, particularly in Mathura, where Krishna was born, and nearby Vrindavan, where he spent his early childhood. On this day, devotees fast, wear traditional attire, bathe and decorate Lord Krishna’s idols with new robes and jewels, and pray for their families’ well-being. Other customs for Janmashtami include visiting Krishna temples and offering prayers.
