To the dismay of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, US President Joe Biden will not visit Nagasaki, the second Japanese city bombed and decimated by America in 1945 as the Second World War came to a conclusion. Biden will instead travel to Hiroshima, Japan, for the G7 Summit. The Biden administration has reportedly chosen to use “schedule issues” as an excuse to avoid travelling to Nagasaki, according to a report by Japan Times that quoted diplomatic sources on the subject.
