Teachers’ Day is observed annually on September 5 across the country. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an Indian politician, philosopher, and statesman, is remembered on his birthday in schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions.While serving as India’s second President from 1962 to 1967, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s students paid him a visit to wish him a good birthday. They also approached him, requesting permission to celebrate his birthday on September 5. Dr Radhakrishnan, on the other hand, encouraged his pupils to commemorate September 5 as ‘Teachers Day’ across the country in commemoration of all of India’s renowned teachers.
