Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was forewarned by US President Joe Biden on Tuesday that the country’s “indiscriminate” bombing of Gaza could cost it support from other countries in its fight against Hamas.
Biden told donors that Netanyahu needed to “change” his position on a two-state solution for the Palestinians, in some of his most direct statements since Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel that set off the current conflict.
Regarding the governance of Gaza after the conflict, Netanyahu stated that there was “disagreement” with Biden. This represents a rare divergence from the US president’s recent strong support for Israel.
