The White House warned on Thursday that the Chinese-owned video hosting service TikTok could endanger American safety and national security (Local Time). During a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded to a media question about the TikTok ban, saying, “We have expressed concerns over China’s potential use of software platforms that could endanger or threaten America’s safety and national security, so that is the President’s concern, and that is why we have called on Congress to take action.”

India has invited Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and National Security Adviser (NSA) to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in New Delhi in April. According to reports, Khawaja Asif has accepted the invitation from the Indian government. With India currently holding the SCO presidency, a series of meetings are planned. China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Russian President Vladimir Putin may attend the G20 summit in India in September, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, but no final decision has been made. The G20 Leaders’ Summit will be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10. The Group of 20 (G20) is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major developed and developing economies, representing roughly 85% of global GDP, over 75% of global trade, and roughly two-thirds of global population.

, US President Joe Biden and the leaders of Australia and the United Kingdom announced that Australia will buy nuclear-powered attack submarines from the US to modernise its fleet in the face of growing concern about China’s influence in the Indo-Pacific. Biden travelled to San Diego with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to celebrate an 18-month-old nuclear partnership known as AUKUS, which stands for Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Los Angeles, March 13 (IANS) Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh has won Best Actress at the 95th Academy Awards, becoming the first Asian actress to do so. Yeoh was recognised for her outstanding performance in ‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. She finished ahead of Cate Blanchett, Michelle Williams, Ana de Armas, and Andrea Riseborough. Yeoh has a career spanning nearly four decades and has been everywhere from Hong Kong cinema to American and British cinema, with her journey in cinema bringing her well-deserved accolades all at once.

Virat Kohli

Dinesh Karthik, India’s wicketkeeper-batter, lavished praise on Virat Kohli, saying that the former captain did not have to battle any demons on the field in Ahmedabad, but instead triumphed over the demons in his head as he ended a three-year wait for his first Test century. Kohli hit his 28th Test century on a slow pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Day 4 of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series finale.

Last week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle christened their daughter Lilibet at their California home. The public announcement was made by referring to her as a princess, implying that they will use royal titles for their children. It also means that Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet, both three years old, have the titles of prince and princes.

In his 438th match for India, Rohit Sharma reached 17,000 runs in international cricket.Rohit is only the sixth Indian batter to accomplish this feat in international cricket.In the first innings of the fourth Test, Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 35 runs. Rohit joined an elite group of Indian batters who have scored more than 17,000 international runs, including Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. He is India’s sixth batter to score 17,000 runs or more, and the seventh Indian batter to do so.
