Jeff Bezos’ space company constructed a launchpad close to a deserted Florida beach that can survive the flames and sound of strong rocket engines during takeoff. It scarcely even has a scratch on it.
Many in the space sector see Bezos’ Blue Origin as a balance to Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which has essentially taken over the rocket-launch business. They also enquire as to why Blue Origin hasn’t advanced further. The business hasn’t reached orbit yet, but it’s getting close. In a massive factory close to the launchpad, it’s constructing enormous metal pieces and other parts for its fleet of New Glenn orbital rockets.
