BJP’s Rupali Ganguly urges Mamata Banerjee to stop horse-drawn carriages

Rupali Ganguly, an actress and politician renowned for her role in famous TV dramas such as ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ and ‘Anupamaa’, has addressed a letter to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee proposing the usage of elegant, vintage-style motorised e-carriages in Kolkata. Rupali, a PETA India member, stated that in recent months, over eight horses had died on Kolkata’s streets as a result of overwork in the carriage industry. “The use of horses for carriage rides poses a risk to the public and creates a traffic hazard,” Rupali noted in a statement.The actress also stated that both horses and humans had been injured. “Both horses and people have sustained significant injuries. Appallingly, horses that endure severe, significant injuries are frequently abandoned,” she wrote in the letter.
