In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted why the BJP continues to win elections and perform well in the northeast. Mr. Rijiju, the Minister of Earth Sciences, is an Arunachal Pradesh MP. The mountainous border state held both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections at the same time. The BJP recaptured power in the Arunachal legislature for the third time in a row today, with a majority of 46 seats out of 60. “The BJP lost several seats by a razor-thin margin, but 46 seats represent a massive success for the Arunachal people. The region has undergone significant development. “There has been a significant transformation throughout the state,” Mr Rijiju told NDTV. He ran for the Arunachal West constituency.
