UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has made an emotional plea for Britain to defend its democracy, warning that radical groups are attempting to tear the country apart and damage its multi-faith identity.
Referring to his own Hindu beliefs, the British Indian leader said on Friday that the UK’s enduring values include welcoming migrants of all faiths and races, and he encouraged demonstrators not to allow peaceful marches to be hijacked by extreme elements.
“The immigrants who have arrived here have integrated and contributed. They contributed to the latest chapter of our island’s story. “They have done this without having to reveal their identities,” Rishi Sunak said in a speech outside 10 Downing Street.
