A ‘Har Har Mahadev’ Chant Follows Ravi Kishan’s Second Oath as MP

After being sworn in as a Lok Sabha MP for the second time, BJP leader Ravi Kishan concluded his oath by summoning a yogi, repeating a Hindu religious ritual, and yelling a message in praise of the Bhojpuri language and its speakers. After taking the oath, the actor-politician chanted “Baba Gorakhnath Maharaj ki jai, Har Har Mahadev” with other MPs in the House. He then exclaimed “Jai Bhojpuri” and grinned before shaking hands with MP Faggan Singh Kulaste, who was presiding at the moment, before leaving the stage. The Gorakhnath Temple is well-known in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, where Mr Kishan represents. The BJP leader won from Gorakhpur for the second straight time, although his margin was reduced to one.
